Silhouette InstaLift uses absorbable micro-cones to instantly lift aging, mid-facial skin, including sagging cheeks and deeper nasolabial folds. This procedure also activates your natural collagen production to boost volume over time for up to 2 years. That means you can achieve the look you want — without surgery or fillers. InstaLift™ sutures are made of poly-glycolic acid (PGA) and poly-L-lactic acid (PLA). PGA and PLA are degradable sugar materials that are well-tolerated by the body and commonly used in skin care products and peels. InstaLift™sutures dissolve within 4 to 6 months. While the sutures are dissolving, the body produces its own natural collagen to keep the face and neck nicely lifted.
The Treatment
This procedure is a minimally invasive alternative to the facelift for patients who are not ready to undergo more aggressive treatment options. Patients will see improvement in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkle as the procedure stimulates natural collagen production.
This innovative treatment is the ideal choice if you’ve had your fill with fillers but aren’t looking to go under the knife. Using Micro-Suspension Technology™, InstaLift is the only non-surgical procedure that immediately lifts your mid-facial skin while adding volume over time that may be long lasting.
One of the best things about this treatment is it only takes 15 to 45 minutes depending on your treatment protocol. You’ll get a local anesthetic injected into the tissue just beneath your skin. Once the sutures have been inserted, your physician will position them precisely where they need to be to achieve the lift you want. This in-office procedure will take less than an hour. After that, you’re free to go back to work or whatever else you had scheduled for the rest of your day. You may experience some swelling or bruising in the areas, but recovery is minimal for most patients. Most signs of treatment dissipate within 24-48 hours.
Safety & Indications
This treatment is completely safe. It is approved by the FDA for safety and efficacy. Since this procedure is non-invasive, there isn’t a lot you need to do to prepare. However, there are some precautionary measures you can take to ensure the best results from your treatment. Here are things you should avoid 3 to 7 days before treatment:
- Aspirin, Anti-inflammatories (NSAIDS), Blood-thinners, Steroids, Vitamin E, Ginseng, Garlic, Ginko, Omega Fish Oil Supplements or Neuromuscular blockers (these should be avoided for a few days post treatment as well), Alcohol

The cheeks and the lower face/neck region are the most commonly treated. The cheeks and lower face are great regions to treat because they lend themselves so well to synergistic skin lifting treatments with various laser therapy treatments. After Treatment Care
There are not a lot of special after-care requirements to this treatment. Here are some after-care instructions:
• Apply cold packs immediately after the procedure, if required. (Cold packs should be wrapped to avoid direct contact with skin and insertion point)
• Acetaminophen may be taken in case of pain
• Makeup may be gently applied after a minimum of 24 hours
• Sleep face-up, in an elevated position on pillows for 3-5 nights
• Do not rub face aggressively when washing, shaving and drying face for 5 days. Be gentle
• Avoid excessive face and neck movements for 2 weeks
• Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and UV light for 2 weeks
• Avoid participating in high impact sports (e.g. running) for 2 weeks
• Do not use saunas for 3 weeks
• Avoid dental surgery for 3 weeks
• Avoid facials or face-down massages and facial aesthetic treatments for 4 weeks
• Some results of the treatment, such as skin lifting and some of the contouring effects, are visible immediately after treatment. In fact, your skin may look tighter when you walk out of our office than it will a week later.
If you’re looking to correct lines, wrinkles, gaunt facial features or skin laxity of the face, you are a good candidate for a Silhouette Instalift. You are a particularly good candidate for this treatment if you want an instant facial lift but don’t have the time commitment or financial commitment that a traditional facelift requires.
